Subj: CHIEF BIKE PROJECT UPDATES
1. This memo is to let you all know the current status of the fundraising efforts for the Chief Bike Project. As of 12 December, we had $8,860 in the Chief Bike Project bank account. We get a wire transfer once a month from Navychief.com with all of the online donations and profits from shirt sales. I am told the next one we get will be the biggest yet due to high volume of Holiday sales, so that should put us up around the 12-15k mark. This includes an itemized spreadsheet with the names of donors and purchasers of shirts. We found that there were some significant problems with shirt orders to the manufacturer causing undue delays and errors in getting the shirts out. Jeff Hobrath and Dwayne and Christine Schwarz of Navychief.com have been our biggest supporters. They temporarily halted the shirt orders to straighten out the issues with the manufacturer, and it is now back up and running error free. We apologize for any problems you may have had in the past and thank you for patience. Shirts are now stockpiled and ordered in advance to prevent future shortages.
3. Depending on the response and degree of growth in fundraising efforts, it may be necessary to extend the project to September of 2006. Each month has surpassed the previous month in donations and shirt sales, but many chiefs are just getting the word and hearing of the project for the first time, and many still are unaware of the project altogether. Communication and coordination of efforts are the keys to successfully completing this project. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to working with you to complete this awesome endeavor.
